A woman’s body goes through so many changes during life – pregnancy, birth, hormonal changes… Have you ever wondered if there is a way to keep your skin smooth, firm and avoid stretch marks and cellulite through all these phases? We have a simple 3 step routine that will help you regain and keep your skin’s natural firmness and smoothness.
Dry body brushing
The simplest things are often the most effective! Forget all cellulite, firming gels and lotions with a lot of chemicals or expensive salon treatments. All you need to prevent stretch marks, fight cellulite and helps your skin retain its natural elasticity, is a dry body brush and a few minutes every day.
Being consistent is the key to success – use a dry brush every day for only a few minutes, 3-5 minutes for the whole-body brushing is more than enough.
Use the dry body brush on your legs, bottom, stomach and arms. If you are pregnant and you have no complications, only brush your stomach in the 1st and 2nd trimester, in 3rd trimester only brush your legs and arms.
Use sliding movements from the bottom to top on your legs and arms, always brush towards your heart. You can use either circular clockwise movement for your stomach or also brush from bottom up. When using the dry body brush, never apply pressure – the purpose of dry body brushing is not exfoliation of the skin.
What are the dry body brushing benefits?
- firms and smooths skin
- works great on still fresh red stretch marks to reduce their appearance
- improves blood circulation and stimulates the immune system
- helps to reduce the appearance of cellulite
- releases tension
- reduces swelling – great help during pregnancy when you have swollen ankles
- helps to relieve joint pain
Exfoliation
A gentle, regular skin exfoliation is a great way to help the skin regenerate and look younger and smoother as a result. You will see the best benefits when done consistently twice a week.
You can use a body scrub or an exfoliation glove, bot ways are effective and suitable for the whole body.
Body scrubs
There are many different body scrubs available on the market, but I would recommend only to use salt-based body scrubs. You can also find sugar-based scrubs, but unlike salt, sugar supports the growth of bacteria.
Exfoliation glove
An exfoliation glove is just as effective as a body scrub, but it can also be used for dry exfoliation just before applying a moisturising body lotion or body butter.
Benefits of skin exfoliation
- Removes dead skin cells.
- Help the skin to regenerate
- Improves and unifies skin tone.
- Relaxing, affordable beauty routine
- Improves blood circulation which helps fight cellulite and improves skin appearance
Hydration
The last and important step of every skin care routine is hydration. Even your skin needs nourishment and moisturising to stay elastic, healthy and young looking.
Use a body butter, oil or a lotion ideally after a every shower or bath, especially if you used a dry body brush or exfoliated your skin before.
I recommend to use natural products without to many additives – pure shea butter or Sweet almond oil are just enough. If you want something a bit more special, try our Body butter with Chocolate & Honey – the sweet natural scent is just irresistible.
When it comes to skin care, being consistent is the key. Your skin will return the care to you in a form of healthy glow and smooth, young appearance.
